How this tool works

Important limitation
JPEG does not support transparency and uses lossy encoding. Keep the PNG original when transparency or pixel-perfect graphics matter.
FileToSpec validates technical properties but cannot guarantee acceptance by a particular portal or organization.

Does changing the extension convert PNG to JPG?
No. FileToSpec decodes and re-encodes the image, then inspects the actual JPEG output.
What happens to transparency?
Transparent areas are rendered on white because JPEG has no alpha channel.
